The Emmy nominations were announced this morning and gay faves Glee and Modern Family topped the list with 12 and 17 noms respectively.

Out actors Jane Lynch (Glee’s Sue Sylvester), Chris Colfer (Glee’s Kurt Hummel), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family’s Mitch Pritchett) and Alan Cumming (The Good Wife’s Eli Gold) all scored noms in major acting acting categories. Nathan Lane was also nominated for Guest Actor in a Comedy for Modern Family, and Dot Marie Jones and Kristin Chenoweth for their Guest Actress nods for Glee.

Major snubs include Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Lea Michelle/Mathew Morrison (Glee), AMC’s breakout hit The Walking Dead, the actors in HBO’s True Blood and none the woman of ABC’s Desperate Housewives.

The 63  Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18. Jane Lynch  is set to host.
