A quick look at the good, the bad and the ugly in recent gay marriage news…

After a huge upstart and major strides in the House early on, Maryland‘s gay marriage bill took a nose dive and all but died in the state’s Senate last week. The bill isn’t completely off the table, but has been sent back to committee and won’t be voted on until next year. Despite this major setback, Marylanders have promised to keep fighting.

Hundreds of protesters showed up at the Indiana Statehouse Monday to protest an anti-gay marriage bill that recently passed the House and is on it’s way through the Senate.

A Rhode Island gay marriage hearing saw a packed and lively crowd at the RI Statehouse last week. Supporters and opponents alike filled the state’s Senate committee room and the adjoining hallways to discuss a pro gay marriage bill currently making it’s way through the state’s Congress.

A Senate committee in Colorado passed a civil unions bill with a 6-3 vote last week, sending the bill to the full Senate floor for an upcoming debate and official vote.
